Residents

Below is the 2018 information. The 2019 information will be provided in January.

Please join us for our first annual EM RESIDENT OL”EM”PICS COMPETITION at TCEP CONNECT 2018!

Resident teams from each EM training program in Texas will be competing for the GOLD! All participants must register for the conference and each program must complete the form below. All residents will be able to attend all of Day 2 of the conference with faculty and includes multiple shorter high yield lectures pertinent to the practice of emergency medicine.

The OL”EM”PICS will be an amazing opportunity for EM residents to team build, strengthen leadership skills and learn about the business of EM and most importantly network and have tons of FUN!!! The format will be several “competitions” ranging from scavenger hunts, to “Family Feud” on business of EM concepts, to case based simulation competitions as well as some physical races. Each residency team can only have SIX residents at each individual competition but can have different residents compete in the different competitions.

Residents from each program should try to wear the same t-shirt (ideally representing their program) and the traditional costume of their choosing for the simulation competition. Residents must be present on Friday, April 13th, beginning at 6pm for an overview and brief competition which will continue all day on Saturday, April 14 until 5pm, immediately followed by a sponsored residency happy hour and awards ceremony.  Residency programs need a minimum of 6 residents from their program to participate and will receive more detailed information at a later time. TCEP is also hosting a night out at the ballgame to watch the Astros play the Rangers later that evening. For questions, contact Dr. Craig Meek (cmeekmd@me.com) or Joe Young (jmyoung9@gmail.com)

OL”EM”PICS Competition

It’s fun way to learn more about important non-clinical EM such as leadership, team building and the business of EM concepts!
We hope to have representation from ALL Texas EM Residency Programs at our new resident OL”EM”PICS which will include a simulation competition.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams – Gold, Silver and Bronze medal winners!
We need a minimum of SIX residents from each program to form a team.
